We embraced slavery and its profits

But we are a peaceful people

We annihilated the indigenous

But we are a peaceful people

We marched to the sea

But we are a peaceful people

We have humongous “defense” budgets

But we are a peaceful people

We make war continuously

But we are a peaceful people

We assassinate repeatedly

But we are a peaceful people

We glamorize the military with “Special Forces”

But we are a peaceful people

We bomb without blinking

But we are a peaceful people

We torture and dehumanize

But we are a peaceful people

We pray for peace but vote for war

But we are a peaceful people.
